I'm not teaching this year, but occasionally I'll fill in for a class here and there as a favor. I wore this outfit on Tuesday to teach my advisor's Pompeian archaeology class. It was a little more polished than my normal everyday wear, but still comfortable enough to spend most of the day curled up in front of my computer, typing away at the dissertation.
I've been wearing pants almost exclusively lately. It's weird, because I've been a skirt girl for years, but I suppose my style is changing. I tried to make a few different skirt outfits work before putting this on, but just wasn't happy in any of them. Or maybe I need to update my skirt wardrobe? I'm not sure, but I'm definitely most comfortable in slim pants and a blousy top these days.

Does your style ever go through shifts?
I hope you've been having a good week!

I love those pants! I have been looking for a pair just like that. You look comfortable and very put together. Awesome outfit!

wow!!!!! love your outfit!!!!! greetings, angie
Adorable outfit! I'm so envious at how well you wear cropped pants - they don't look quite as nice on me. :]
My style does tend to go through shifts, occasionally. For a while I'll be mostly dresses and tights, and then I'll be stuck on pants until the circle loops back around.
Have a lovely day!

Very cute. Makes me want to continue dressing cute/nice even though I take care of small children everyday. Even if they don't care I do! :) Have a bright day:)
very cute- a perfect teaching outfit. how tall are you? i have a really similar top, and it's so long that i feel weird wearing it with cropped pants because i feel too short...
You look so put together yet comfortable, perfect for a day of teaching. It's crazy you teach classes on Pompeian archaeology! Are you working towards being a professor or more in the field archaeologist? So interesting!
Thanks, everyone!! Courtney, I'm on 5'4", which is why I don't feel like this shirt works on my unbelted, but I think a belt pulls the eye up enough that I don't look too stumpy. I always feel a little awkward in cropped pants, though, and I feel like I have to wear them with heels!
Lisa, ideally I'll do both - I'd like to basically continue doing what I do now, teaching and researching during the school year, and working in the field during the summer. It's a good balance!
Adorable as always! I am really drawn to this outfit. It could be the cat in the background that sold me on it though...
