It's Friday again! Is your October flying by as quickly as mine? I'm really not sure where the time is going. In any case, let's celebrate the weekend with some nice things.
1. It's hard to believe that holiday crafting season is here. Get started with Grosgrain's Holiday Gift Guide - it is PACKED with great ideas for handmade gifts.
2. 'Living In' is probably my favorite feature on Design*Sponge, so I was thrilled to see that this week's was devoted to what is possibly my all-time-favorite movie, The Royal Tenenbaums. Love it!
3. Megan Nielsen has released sewing patterns of her fantastic designs. The Darling Ranges dress is definitely on my to-sew list.
4. I missed these pretty handwarmers in my knitting roundup the other day. The combination of simple shape and ombre colorway is just perfect. Find the pattern at The Purl Bee.
5. Learn how to transfer photos to fabric with this great tutorial from Elsie at A Beautiful Mess:
6. Whip up a reversible tote bag with My Girl Thursday (an OPB sponsor)!
7. Rachel of Smile and Wave shared how to make vintage suitcases even prettier by covering them with fabric on A Beautiful Mess. Clever!
8. Make DIY hot chocolate spoons with Miss Indie (an OPB sponsor!) - is it bad that I want to forget the "hot" part, and just eat the chocolate right off the spoons?
9. Cross stitched cell phone cases?? YES. You can buy a ready-to-stitch case from The Purl Bee, or see how easy it is to DIY with Wee Little Stitches (via Feeling Stitchy).
10. Have you seen LA's 'photo shoot set up' post series? It's really helpful (and inspiring!).

11. Awww, stuffie Chewie is so cute! Make your own with this free pattern from Draw! Pilgrim.

12. Are you Pintrest obsessed? Me too! Rachel's post on being a responsible pinner is really great - it definitely opened my eyes to poor pinning practices, and inspired me to do better. (also, are we following each other on Pintrest? I'm Alli_Lucy over there!).
13. Finally, have you decided what you're going to be for Halloween yet? This awesome DIY costume from A is for Ampersand really makes me want to go as a member of Team Zissou.
Although this knit Dr. Zoidberg costume (via Craft) is also pretty freaking amazing. Wait, is my dorkiness showing?
Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm giving a lecture at my undergraduate alma mater tonight - surreal, but I'm excited to spend some time at my old campus. Happy Friday!
