My first photos from the Canon AE-1 came back yesterday! I'd forgotten how much fun it is to wait for a roll of film to develop. Oh, and flipping through them for the first time and remembering each of the shots? Love it! I don't know if 35mm could ever replace my love of Polaroid, but I think I could definitely make room in my heart for both.
So here it is, last weekend's New York trip, on film:

These first three shots were taken with some incredibly expired Kodak color film that was in the camera when I got it (12 years expired, to be precise!). I kind of love the double exposure on the photo of Nate waiting for a train. I used new Kodak professional black and white film for the rest.

The Plaza

No, I do not know this guy. Ah, New York.

beautiful photography as always, alli!!
Thanks, Ilene! I love having these photos to remember the trip by.
How fun is expired film!
Wow! Awesome! I am actually getting a post together about Halal carts (the technical term for the particular style of roach coach in your photo). When we first got here, they repulsed us. How could you eat that shit? I mean, we're used to Cafe de Wheels, the gourmet food truck. 2 months later...I wake up thinking, tabbouleh and falafel are O.K. for breakfast, right. Just as long as you don't tell me how long that grease has been sitting there...
These are amazing, I also like the double exposure on the expired film.
