Nice Things

Hooray for Friday! This week's nice things list is a little short, but hopefully sweet.

1. I am so inspired by Nami Yamamo's silhouettes. This picture makes me want to trace everything on my desk.

2.  I find myself really wanting to try Honestly...WTF's gold painted jeans tutorial.  If only I could find jeans that fit at the thrift store!  Does everyone else have trouble with jeans, or is it just me?

3.  Sandy of the 1000 Crane Mission has a simple and sweet idea: write positive messages on 1000 paper cranes and place them in public areas for people to find.  Love it!

4.  The vintage paper dolls in this collection are so fabulous; how great would they be magnetized?

5.  Finally, I meant to share this nice thing weeks ago, but somehow my addled brain overlooked it!  Elizabeth Abernathy kindly sent me a copy of her new E-publication, Nuno Magazine, while I was in Greece.  I loaded it onto my iPad and literally devoured it (okay, not at all literally - I think that eating an iPad wouldn't be a very good idea.  Anyway, it is awesome).  Gorgeous photography, inspiring and creative projects, and a fantastic 'forest' theme throughout.  You can download the entire magazine (150 pages with 30+ projects) for $5, or check out a free preview with 28 pages and 3 projects at the Nuno Magazine site.  Congrats, Elizabeth!

Do you have any nice things to add to the list (either that you've posted yourself, or that you've come across somewhere else on the web)?  Share in the comments below!

I ALWAYS have trouble finding good thrifted jeans. :(

If you're looking to paint a pair of skinny jeans, though, forever 21 almost always has pairs for $9.80 and $12.80....so if they don't turn out well, you're not losing too much money!

You always find some of the most beautiful crafts. Those silhouettes are amazing! And that magazine I will definitely be checking out more.

Have a happy weekend, Alli.

I've never tried to thrift jeans, I can't even find them in a well stocked store.
The gold painted jeans do look quite awesome though.

I love the Ava Gardner paper so much! I also really wish I could fold paper cranes.

I've missed these lists! I'm really liking the paper crane idea. And I only own two pair of jeans, because I don't think they make them for short girls. Haha.

Thanks very much for sharing Nuno with your readers. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I feel like I never own more than 3 pairs of jeans that fit reasonably at one time. I don't know why it is so hard to find them. Thanks for the lovely write up. :)

I love this Nuno issue! I've made masks, a felt hat, and am working on french knots for a pin cushion. <3

thanks for the post!! :)

I know Denim Leggings have a bad reputation but they are really forgiving and the thicker the denim the less clingy they are!
