Okay, I promise that I have a good reason for the long silence here! In addition to finish up the dig at Pompeii over the last few weeks, my parents came to visit Italy. I can't even describe how great it was to have them; it was their first trip to Europe, and we had a fantastic time together. Of course, all of the fun/work left little time for the internet, though! I'm happy to report that I've now officially finished up the season in Pompeii, my parents are safely back at home (replicating the Italian lifestyle in southeastern Ohio), and I've moved on from Italy to Greece, where I'm starting my second project of the summer.
Of course, after the long season of work I needed to unwind a bit before moving straight into something else. A beach weekend with great friends in a tiny fishing village in southern Greece did the trick perfectly.
Happy Monday, everyone!!

I'm an archaeologist who lives in America during the year, but travels to Italy and Greece to conduct research every summer. I'm currently living in (and blogging from) Ancient Corinth, Greece, and I spend my days working at the nearby Greek sanctuary at Isthmia.

So, here's the process: onepearlbutton to abeautifulmess which leads to frecklewonder and a 'you tube' video of Tanya Davis on being 'alone'. Tanya's words are so genuine I find both her CD's on iTunes and buy them immediately. My week is made discovering a nifty, new artist.
Sometimes you come across something and if you could, you would find that person and say to them, "Ya know that planet you're from. I'm from that planet too. Sorry about being a quarter century older than you. I just caught the early bus by mistake."
