One of this week's Tell Your Story projects was a portable art journal to throw in your bag. I'm going to take mine with me while I travel this summer - I think journaling will make a great creative outlet while I'm away.

I decided to stencil in orange on the brown file folder that I used for my journal cover. I wanted to create a look that was similar to burned leather, and it turned out just as I had pictured it (don't you love when that happens?).

I used a variety of papers for the inside - vintage blank and printed pages, graph paper, parchment paper, papers torn from catalogs and magazines, and a few pages made from recycled brown bags. I hope that the variety inspires me throughout the summer!
I've had a loooong Monday, and am super ready to curl up on the couch with Nate and some delicious sushi. I hope you all had a great start to your weeks!

The stencil turned out beautifully! All your pictures is starting to rekindle my interest in journaling. Well, that and trying my hand at making journals. If nothing else, you'll have fun flipping through all the pages and seeing what you've got to work with.
