This post makes me feel a little perkier though, because it's really fun and exciting! You might have noticed a new Sharpie commercial airing on TV - I believe it previewed last week, and officially starts its run today. The campaign asks what life would be like without self expression, and highlights ways you can express yourself with Sharpie. I think the new commercial is adorable; take a look!
Contest!
So what does all of this have to do with you? Sharpie and I want to know how you express yourself using Sharpies. Do you art journal? Make vinyl stickers? Doodle on household objects? Take pretty photos of Sharpie markers? However you like to create with Sharpie, snap a photo and email it to me: alli@onepearlbutton.com. I'll choose three finalists, and OPB readers will vote on the grand prize winner. I told you this was going to be fun!
The Prize
Okay, so what does the winner receive? One grand prize winner will get $100 worth of Sharpie products, provided by Sharpie. That's right, $100. Excited yet?
The Details
You have one week to send me your entry - entries will close next Monday night (May 24) at midnight. I'll post the finalists on Tuesday, May 25, and voting will run for another week through Monday, May 31. I'll announce the winner on June 1.

I don't have any Sharpies!! :( My mom used to always use Sharpies for everything, making lists/writing notes/labelling things...pretty much anything that need to be written down and anywhere. :D She liked the fine and extra fine points in black and in blue and once in a while she had either the red or the green.
I haven't bought a Sharpie since she died in 1999. :( This post makes me want to go out now and buy a bunch of different colored Sharpies and a sketchbook to doodle in. Too bad our bookstores here in the Philippines only have the basic colored fine markers. I know cause I tried looking for them recently. :D

Haven't had much time for art lately, and I only have a couple of Sharpies. :/ But i did have to spend Way Too Long in line at the bank so I upgraded the first page of my datebook, and my cellphone is Sharpie art, as is the touch-up work on Dot. I love Sharpies...great and small! They float around everywhere in my house, cars, and bags. Therefore, I'm never bored. I especially like how I can draw on just about ANYTHING. And on many surfaces, if I make a mistake, I can cover it up with a darker sharpie, or remove it using nail polish remover! :) Love, love, love this contest idea! Thanks for the fun!
