What I'm Wearing: Wardrobe Malfunction?

Black chiffon blouse: H&M
Lacey black camisole (unseen): Gap
Blue wool skirt: vintage, thrifted (shortened and taken in by me)
(faux) Alligator belt: H&M
Grey tights layred over black tights: both TJMaxx?
Black pumps: Target
Jewelry: wedding rings, (faux) diamond studs, grandma Ellen's watch

I haven't worn this skirt in nearly two years. The last time I wore it, I suffered from a slight wardrobe malfunction - the back seam split from the slit up and revealed a bit (read: A LOT) more than I typically like to reveal in a classroom setting (or ever, haha). Despite all of the sewing I do, I didn't have a sewing kit with me, so E had to staple the seam back together! After that embarrassing incident, I tossed the skirt into my mending pile and promptly forgot about it. I found it a few weeks ago while organizing the craft room. I fixed the split seam (don't worry, I backstitched over the top of the slit about a hundred times), and was really happy to have the skirt back in my closet. After half a day of wearing it, however, I'm not sure that the reunion is meant to be - it's gotten somewhat, erm, snug in those two years languishing in the mending pile. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say that I've expanded slightly in the past two years. Eh, it happens!

I am also apparently a bad learner, since I realized while walking to school that I *still* don't carry a sewing kit with me. Cross your fingers that those backstiches hold!

Have you ever suffered from a wardrobe malfunction?

Looks good to me! I can't tell it's too snug. Wardrobe malfunction? Not that I remember - poor choice though? Yes, too many times than I care to recall HAHA!

Nooo it looks gorgeous, don't be silly! I feel your pain with the wardrobe malfuction though - I think it's a pencil skirt thing...mine was on the way to work, late, and with no tights on...luckily I worked in a haberdashery & knitting store, so it was quickly rectified...thank goodness! :D

The skirt looks really cute! I need to learn how to sew better so I can redo all of my thrifting finds.

I don't think I've had a malfunction, but i've made tons of embarrassing choices. haha.

Oh how awful for you :( My wardrobe malfunction was bad but at least I didn't know the people.

I like to wear skirts too... and one of them blew up in the wind very ala Marilyn Monroe style. Problem? I was right next to a construction sight. My face was so red and I promptly changed the style of skirt I wore.

This skirt is so cute! I'm loving bright pencil skirts these days. My wardrobe malfunction was much like Amanda's; as I was walking down stairs into the subway, a train was coming in, and with it, enough breeze to blow up my skirt!

Last year I had a pair of pants split right below the zipper. I spent the rest of the day trying not to flash elementary school students. I was paranoid the whole day. I'm not much of pants person as it is, so this incident nearly turned me off pants completely.

I've had the crotch rip out in a pair of already torn up jeans, they were my absolute favorite for years and one day they had enough and out went the crotch. Embarassing, but atleast we were camping and I could change quickly! Cute skirt btw.

another cute outfit!

I have never had anything go wrong but in HS a teacher did. I have to say I felt terrible for her.

I love the color - it's so pretty with black! I fell in the mud at a party once. That was a major malfunction! Haha.

The colour of the skirt is great!!!
You look fantastic!
I had several embarassing moments... last one was in October when I was flying to Milan. I had a pair of self supporting(?) very opaque thights which kept slipping down and my legs weren't ready to be seen bare....... I had to walk trying to keep them up with my hands until I got my luggage, went to the restrooms and changed in my old jeans.

That skirt is so cute, too bad it shrank on you!

I once had a button pop off my coat while in a public bathroom. I had to crawl on the floor to get it (ughhhh) but I wasn't about to let it get away!

You and your outfit are just fabulous. As for a wardrobe malfunction I am pretty sure I am having one right now. By that I mean who let me out of the house looking so frumpy...ugh!

I love the skirt - what an invigorating colour!

I think my wardrobe was one continuous malfunction from the ages of about 12-15, when I dressed only in clashing neons. My favourite item of clothing was a pair of tights with a glorious tropical beach scene repeating up the leg. The thought of them still makes me blush.

I'm happy to report that the skirt successfully made it through the day - no malfunctions. Of course, I was really, really ready to change out of it at the end of the day though, haha!

I'm loving these wardrobe malfunction stories. I suppose it happens to all of us!
