Two Years of Blogging Giveaway!

One week ago today, I officially finished my second year of blogging and began my third. Wow. When I started One Pearl Button, I had absolutely no idea how important writing it would become to me. I saw it as a way to archive and share my crafts; but I didn't realize that it would actively spur me into a whole new realm of creativity. I also couldn't even imagine what the real value of blogging would be for me - the value isn't in the crafts I share here, but in the awesome friends I've made all over the world. Whether we talk all the time or you've never commented, whether you've been reading for a year or a day, I appreciate every single one of you, and today I want to say a big "thank you" with a giveaway!

For this giveaway, I thought it would be fun to record some of my favorite things as I begin my third year of blogging, and to share them with you. So here they are, just a few of my favorite things.

Favorite thing #1: Ladylike style

Giveaway item: white vintage gloves with lovely beaded detail. These would look so cute with a pencil skirt and heels! They should fit most women - I have fairly large hands and they fit me.

Favorite thing #2: Crochet

Giveaway item: vintage crocheted wool trivet and cute cotton potholder to add some handmade style to your kitchen.

Favorite thing #3: Vintage sewing notions

Giveaway item: a collection of vintage trims from my stash: piping, lace and satin seam binding, ric-rack, and bias tape. Most of the trims are still in their original packaging, ready to add something special to your projects.

Favorite thing #4: Crafting with cashmere sweaters

Giveaway item: a gorgeous black cashmere sweater, men's size large. The sweater is slightly damaged around the neckline, making it unwearable but *perfect* for crafting into something new and fabulous!

Favorite thing #5: Kitschy treasures

Giveaway item: a vintage thermos made by Aladdin, complete with its inner seal cap and a cup on top. I love the diamond pattern on this one!

Favorite thing #6: Inspiration books

Giveaway item: vintage (antique?) leather photo album. It has never been used and is full of blank black pages that are just begging to be filled up with inspiring images.

Favorite thing #7: Vintage cameras


Giveaway item: an Argus Seventy-five box format camera, made between 1949 and 1958. I have the similar Argoflex Seventy-five (it was my mom's first camera), and it's one of my absolute favorites. This Argus is damaged on the upper left-hand corner, so I'm not sure that it will run film anymore (although it might). It would, however, be perfect for displaying and for trying your own TTV experiments. It comes in its original leather case. I love this little camera!
