2. A style school project: legwarmers made from sweater sleeves! I used a thrifted cashmere sweater, so these are super cozy under boots.
The roads are much better today, so we're off to the movie theater to see Up in the Air (hooray!). I'm told that there's some sort of football game on tonight, and I suppose I'll be forced into watching that (just kidding, just kidding, I know it's the Super Bowl). I always try to convince our friends to watch the puppy bowl for four hours instead, but never get many takers. At least it's an excuse to eat junk food for dinner - mmmm...I'm looking forward to nachos!

LOVE the legwarmers! I'm still on the lookout for a thrift sweater that doesn't suck.
My day consists of laundry and more laundry! I may get some knitting in, if I am lucky! I just watch the Super Bowl for the commercials! (o; Have a wonderful Sunday!!

Those legwarmers are such a great idea. I have a couple of cashmere sweaters waiting to be recycled into yarn, and I might just keep a couple of sleeves for quick layering pieces. Did you do anything to get them to stay up?

Too funny! I walked around all day Sunday in my thrifted sweater-sleeve legwarmers, not quite as lux as cashmere, but with a ruffle of lace sewn around the bottoms... and I tell you, they looked mighty funny sticking out the bottoms of my sweatpants! Yours are adorable.

Ritsukurimono, I cut pieces of ribbing from the waist of the sweater and sewed them along the top raw edge of the sleeve. I made sure that each ribbing piece was slightly smaller than the circumference of my leg, so that they stretch and hold themselves up.
Kristina - so funny! I love the idea of legwarmers with lace. They sound so cute!
Was anyone else disappointed with the Super Bowl commercials this year? I found them pretty uninspired. Oh well, the nachos were still good!
