Nice Things

1. I was so excited to see that Alicia Paulson made a pattern for her gorgeous granny squares! I'm not sure that I'll want to take on another granny square project when I finish the afghan I'm working on now, but I really want to make this.

2. How lovely is Kootoyoo's TV stand makeover?

3. Craftyminx has made an adorable vintage valentine into a free embroidery pattern. Love it!

4. Another great freebie: Alma Loveland's beautiful Valentine's-themed Twitter backgrounds. I've switched my background to the one in the center, and I think it's a huge improvement over the default!

5. Still on the subject of Valentine's Day, Pip has shared a pattern for these cute crocheted hearts.

6. These puffy crocheted hearts from Between The Lines also look really fun to make (note that the tutorial has two parts!).

7. Finally, one for those of you who are Valentine's-ed out: I love the simplicity of these stamped coasters from Design*Sponge.

Today S. and I are hosting an afternoon tea for our department with delicious baked goods. Yum! The weathermen have predicted a winter storm, but there's no sign of it yet - maybe it will stay away. I hope you have a great Friday!

I'm in IL and the storm was hitting us this afternoon when I took my dog for a walk. It was starting to hit my folks in Northern IN. I hate to say it but the storm may come tonight.

I love those tiny crocheted hearts! They're super cute and super easy to make, especially for people like me who, for some reason, can only crochet in circles!

I'm glad no one is offended by the overwhelming Valentine's-ness of this post, haha!

Craftyminx, I *love* your pattern! So, so clever. Can't wait to see the new one!

And yes, the snow arrived. Luckily we still have power (knock on wood!) and I have lots of crafting to do.

great post!, I love the granny square aablanket and the coasters. I am up at the lake for a few days and on dial-up internet so it is pretty slow going. But I have my granny square afghan here so I will take a photo and post it, it is pretty basic but I like the border on it, did something from a Nicky Epstein book and some crocheted flowers. michelle (in Canada)
