On Our Way

Sorry it's been quiet around here today - Nate and I are on our way* to my hometown to celebrate Christmas with my family. I'm especially excited this year because all of my siblings (there are four of us) and their families are gathering at my parents' house. We kids are far-flung these days, and the last time we were all together was nearly four years ago. Now I just hope that the storm in Chicago doesn't keep anyone from missing their connection at O'Hare!

I'll be back tomorrow for one more post before Christmas. Can you believe that it's only one day away? Crazy! Are you ready? Do you have any special plans this year?

*literally - I'm posting this from the car, where we are munching on McDonald's fries and singing along to classic SKA. Ah, roadtrips.

Hope you have a lovely holiday, it's always great to spend time with your siblings who live out of state!

I love blogging/reading/commenting from the car... sometimes it feels like the only time you have to do it - thank goodness for the iPhone, haha.

Bah ha ha ha ha ha, let me tell you, as someone from the Chicagoland area, O'Hare had tons of cancellations, delays...it's a mess. Did I mention there's an ice storm warning?

Yea, I'd rather be in Australia right about now. It's not fun.

The roads are a mess. The airport thing is a mess. It's all one big, sticky mess!

I'm going to Grandma's, as always. Please let all this blizzard stuff from the Rockies be gone tomorrow. My dad is very pissy when it's snowing and the roads are a mess.

Merry Christmas to you and Nate and big ol' Percy!

I'll be in the Chicagoland area as well. I'm so happy to be with my family this year. Also, this will be the first year that my husband and his brother will have had Christmas together since they both joined the Marines. My husband was gone last x-mas (and just got back this Nov![Afghanistan for 13 months]) and my brother in law was absent the year before that, and ... It just keeps going back for about three and a half years. I'm just happy we can all be together this year and that we're all still here.
