Holiday Cheer

When I found a straw wreath blank at the thrift store this weekend, I instantly thought of this and these. So I grabbed some yarn and spent the afternoon wrap-wrap-wrapping.

I love how cheerful it is! I'm going to make some yarn wrapped trees to go with it (although I think I'll try to make cones out of recycled cereal boxes - we'll see how it works), and maybe even a garland (perhaps finger knitted? or crocheted?).

Are you crafting any holiday decorations this year?

There are some thread trees around the inter-webs which are lighter weight (obviously) but use stuff as light as wax paper. So I'd think the cardboard should hold up. (V. cute btw.)

Love that wreath. I've been thinking about making one, but it is in discussion with the nice boy!
However, I have made an advent calendar, which is looking very pretty if I do say so myself

I usually make ornaments and wreaths, but I am moving off of an island and back to the mid-west (yay Chicago!) in about four days and haven't been able to do much crafting other than my cross stichting. I'm itching to get my hands on my sewing machine again.

Thanks, everyone! Bethany, I started working on the trees last night and they seem to be holding up. I'll see how they look once I get the yarn on them. Rhiannon, I hope you post pictures of your advent calendar!

Great wreath and I'm not usually a wreath person...

Thanks, Lori! I'm usually not much a a wreath person, either, but I really like the simplicity of this one. It was fun to make, too.
