1. Cool Whip

2. Being silly with some of my favorite people in the world.

3. The fact that while the turkey smoker caught on fire, the house did *not* (and the turkey was already out, so no harm done!)

4. Spending time with the newest member of the family (who has learned to smile and laugh since the last time I saw him - it's hard to believe how quickly they change)
Other things I was thankful for included finding Nate the perfect Christmas present (he is so hard to shop for), eating candy and watching New Moon with S. and my sister (complete with squealing at all the appropriate parts), bringing together some of my best friends from different times in my life, lazing around my parents' house (the best place in the world to be lazy), finishing two knitted Christmas gifts, eating Mexican and drinking pitchers of margaritas at my favorite hometown restaurant, bundling up and feeling a winter chill for the first time this year. It's tough to have a better holiday than that. If only it could have lasted a little bit longer!
Oh! I'm also thankful for this:

I'm now officially enrolled in Red Velvet Art's Style School! The hosts, Elsie and LA, are two incredibly inspirational bloggers. I often fall into creative doldrums when winter sets in, but I'm hoping that this class will carry me through and inspire me to find ways to work even more creativity into my day. Of course, my challenge will be to not let the extra commitment stress me out. I'm going to try as hard as I can to concentrate on enjoying the opportunity to create, and never to feel like I *must* compelete a project. I can't wait to get started.
My tasks for the day are to do some work (lesson plans for this week and tackling a *huge* pile of papers that need to be graded - boo), to do some fabric shopping (I'm working on a ring-bearer pillow for the wedding of two of my best friends - yay!), and to get everything together for tomorrow's sew-along assignment (double yay)! Have a great day, everyone!

Sounds like an incredible Thanksgiving! I'm a follower now!
I'm excited for Style School, too! So glad that you enrolled. Honored they ask me to be a part of it!!
You Thanksgiving looks like it was wonderful. I love the time with family... Thanksgiving leaves me longing for Christmas. All of my sisters will be in town and we will definitely be lazing around my parents house the whole time!
Sounds like a great thanksgiving - Apples to Apples always gets taken out for the family gatherings in my house as well - so much fun!
Thanks, everyone! It really was a great weekend.
Danielle, yay! I'm following your blog as well (via google reader).
Melynda, I can't wait for Christmas either! I always try to slow down and savor the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it's hard not to want to rush to the big celebration.
Lyddie, isn't Apples to Apples great? So much fun!
Drew, I can't wait to see what you have for us in Style School! I thought it was so cool when I saw that a Cincinnati designer was being featured - I love your stuff.
What a wonderful Thanksgiving, well except for the whipped cream. I've never been a fan. I always request that they remove it at restaurants.
The little baby is adorable!
Yikes! I don't know how well I'd deal with an on-fire turkey-smoker. Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving :)
I may be able to track down a Duaflex 1 camera if you are still in need. You mentioned somewhere on your blog and I can no longer find the original posting.
Feel free to drop a note to edisoncarter1 at mac.com
I don't need money or anything as I have plenty.
Again, no promises, just checking if you could still use one.
Be well.
