Ruffled purple sweater - thrifted
Skirt - H&M many years ago (part of my "serious" suit; I also have a fun suit that I often wear in pieces. My parents gifted both to me after I graduated from college)
Purple textured tights layered over black knit - both from TJ Maxx
Brown pumps - Target
Jewelry - mother-of-pearl button studs (made by me), Vintage silver bangle with chain (thrifted), wedding rings.
Brindle greyhound - rescue
Closet converted to bar - Nate's brilliant idea
It's freezing and rainy today, so I wanted an outfit that would keep me nice and toasty. This ruffled cardigan does the trick. I think the look was less chic as I walked to school in my giant green rainboots, though (oops, I forgot to get a picture of the outdoor wear this week). I'm sorry for the terrible lighting - between the rain and the sun coming up so late it was still pretty much dark when I left the house this morning. Ugh, definitely a downside of the season. When do we get to 'fall back,' again?

Aw, look at Percy! He's so cute sleeping like that! Zena has a habit of sleeping in a donut shape with her head tucked into her back leg. I'm determined to get a good picture of her in donut pose but the minute I get the camera all nice and focused....she moves. It's so irritating!
I'm so glad the rain left my area. It rained here the past week! I'm so sick of rain.
Hehe, Percy likes the donut pose, too! He also likes the "test tube pose," in which he curls up the top half of his body then stretches his back legs up past his head (as if he were stuck in a test tube, bum first).
The rain Needs. To. Stop. It's really getting depressing. We've had weeks of it now with just a few brief intervals of sun. Blah.
Ha ha ha! You have to get a picture of that. I admit Zena doesn't do that. I don't think her back legs are long enough! If she isn't in donut pose, she's normally found in what we call "Pride Rock pose," in which she sleeps straight on an incline with paws on an arm rest and nose stuck out in the air! Her radar ears may or may not be standing straight up. She looks like this: The Pride Rock Pose I have managed to get that pose as that is Zena (note the big ears).
The rain is depressing. I think I jinxed the weather as it's raining here again. It's not even drizzly rain but persian cats & chihuahuas rain. I haven't even seen the sun in days. If it isn't raining here, it's overcast. If it ain't overcast, it's foggy. If it isn't foggy, it's thunderstorming which means Zena gets a tranquilizer. And, if it ain't thunderstorming, it's raining AND there's a tornado and/or flood watch. Am I in England or am I in the Midwest? I don't even know some days.
Percy and Zena sound a lot alike - he doesn't do well in storms either! It's a problem around here, especially in the springtime.
I'm rejoicing today because the sun is actually (finally) out!
I'm not sure if any dog like t-storms. I've had four dogs and none of them liked storms. It's only been my terriers that have freaked out though. My greyhound would whine a bit and stick herself in the corner but she'd be fine. Zena, simply put, freaks out like the world is ending (hence, the need of a tranquilizer). The radar ears, while cute, have a few drawbacks.
The sun is supposed to come out tomorrow (yay!). I hope it does. I'm really sick of overcast and rain!
Is that a bar in your closet!?! Awesome!
I hope you get some sun today, Kate!
Hehe, yup Rachel, we converted our living room coat-closet into a bar. I should post about it someday.
Wish I was brave enough for colored tights! Love the purple.
And of course, Percy is so darn cute!
