Mouths to Feed

What's this?

Little blue eggs have become little fluffy birdies. And boy, are they hungry!

Nate and I have been keeping a worried eye on these babies, as the parents' chosen spot for their nest doesn't seem like the best:

Yes, that is a nest in a teeny-tiny tree. Next to a busy-busy street and sidewalk. The nest is at my eye-level, and I'm a shortie. I've been terrified that something would get the eggs, but it seems that I should have given mom and pop Robin a little more credit. So far, so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the babies grow up strong and healthy!

Adorable. I was wishing that some bird parents would find the nooks and crannies around our house for a nest this spring - but your post will fill that void for me, I suppose.

Hey, Alli-Lucy, I just wanted you to know that your blog is splendid. One of the reasons I created my own blog, was that I found one of your creations at a greek crafting website (the wooden banglet, do you remember?) and I just got stuck. Your shots ar always amazing, and your projects too. You really inspired me to start knitting and next fall I'm starting sewing lessons too, so I can create my own clothes. So a big fat thank you!!! Visit my blog if you like, I'm into crafting as well. Oh, and fashion, of course.

Thanks! Sadly (for me, at least!), the babies are now all grown up and they have all left the nest this weekend. It happened so quickly - I miss checking on them while I walk by. It was great to share that little bit of time with them, though.

Jo - thanks so much! Your comment makes me feel really, really happy. I've just subscribed to your blog!
