Secondly, I want to share another part of my 'crafting a fall wardrobe' project. This is the Burdastyle "Marie" skirt, made with a lovely, fine wale, moss green corduroy. I thrifted the fabric for 50 cents last year, and have been hanging onto it since then. The skirt marks a few important milestones for me - it's the first wearable item of clothing that I've made from a real pattern, and it involved setting my first zipper into a piece of clothing! It's far from perfect (which is a little embarrassing, considering that it's marked as "Very Easy"), but I'm happy with how it came out and I think that it has helped me start to overcome my fear of patterns. I've already picked out a few more "Very Easy" Burdastyle patterns to try out next.

It's raining today, and everything feels green. This shot of basil on our kitchen windowsill sums it up nicely.

What projects were big milestones for you?

I have a huge mental block when it comes to making clothes for myself, knitted or sewn. I really need to finish one, THAT will be the big milestone for me.
Great job on the skirt, it looks fab!
My biggest milestone project this summer was making a shirt without using a pattern. (i laughed when i saw that your big challenge was to use a pattern). I wear the yellow shirt I made quite often:
