From My Etsy Faves

As anyone who reads this blog will soon realize, I absolutely love Etsy. I also love sustainable design and giving new life to old objects, which is why I've chosen this gorgeous embellished pencil skirt by Easy Street Studio as my first Etsy featured product. I adore everything about this skirt, from the silk applique to the red topstiching (stitched by hand) to the ruffle around the bottom. I'm also in love with the way the cream silk around the roses contrasts with the crisp white of the skirt. What a beautiful example of refashioning! How could anything massed produced even begin to compare?

I have a few thrifted skirts sitting around my craft room waiting to be reconstructed; this inspires me to hit them with some embellishments.
